Remote desktop connection (RDP) provides to control a computer from another computer.

In other words, the screen of a target computer are taken on to a client computer screen in a window and controlled by the keyboard and mouse of the client computer.

To realize the connection:
- The target computer must allow remote connection.
- Client computer must have necessary programs to connect.

It is not necessary that the client computers should be on the local area network (LAN). They can make connection to target computer over internet.

For internet connection, the TCP protocol 3389 of the router should allow for incoming and outgoing traffic (Firewall) and forwarded to the IP address of the target computer (NAT).

For example, if the IP address of the target computer is 192.168.1.101, router setting must be similar to one in the picture.
